Rwanda aims to be the premier eco-tourism destination on the African continent. The Government of Rwanda has established a Tourism and Conservation Department mandated: to conserve the rich biodiversity of the Protected Areas and to develop sustainable tourism in collaboration with stakeholders for the benefit of all the Rwandan People.
This Department’s tourism goals are to promote Rwanda as a high quality tourism destination and a regional meetings and conference hub for Central and Eastern Africa, and to enhance Rwanda's diverse and unique tourism products in order to bring tourists to the country and generate revenues that contribute significantly to the country's overall socio-economic development. Come, Visit Rwanda!
As a country rich in biodiversity and leading the way in terms of conservation, research and innovation, our goal for Conservation is to maintain, enhance and sustain the ecological integrity, health and productivity of Rwanda's ecosystems as pillars of environmental stewardship and sustainable development. Join us in conserving our biodiversity!
